Curiosity

Have you ever seen someone doing something unfamiliar and thought, “I wonder what that’s like?” That spark – curiosity – is often the first step toward something life-changing.

In Budo, curiosity isn’t just welcomed, it’s essential. Every technique starts as something strange and awkward. But instead of avoiding it, we lean in, explore, and discover. You can’t master something without first wondering how it works.

Curiosity is powerful because it pulls you forward without pressure. It’s what gets you reading a new book, trying a new recipe, or taking a different route home. And the more you exercise it, the more open you become to opportunities.

You don’t have to join a dojo to practise this. Next time you pass something interesting in Needham/Stowmarket – the craft cafe, the yoga class, a new walking trail – stop for a minute. Ask a question. Try it out.

Brian’s tip? Treat your curiosity like a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger and braver it gets.
